Marieke Coppens is an Amsterdam born and based visual artist.
She became a visual artist instead of a comedian due to a serious accident with a horse.
Her work was shown in amongst others: CODA, FOAM, SCHUNCK, Het Textiel Museum, Museum Jan Cunen, Museum van Bommel van Dam.
Those white cubes are not (necessarily) Marieke Coppens' preferred contexts. She works preferably in the grayscale of the art world to be able to make the best fitting context for her work.
She has worked with publishers like Valiz and the missing O. In May 2024 her debut niet het uiterlijk voor goede vriendschappen net als de tongen van de honden has seen the light, presented by the missing O.
Her work was published in (amongst others) NRC, Metropolis M, Mister Motley, Tubelight Magazine and Noordhollands Dagblad.
